Here are some numbers that can give you a little peek into what we have been doing here the past few weeks:
270 people put on tefillin with us (okay, some people may have liked it so much that they came back for more :-)).
2 new mezuzahs installed.
3 classes on Ethics of the Fathers.
3 lectures about the Holy Temple in Jerusalem.
4 study sessions on the weekly Torah portion.
1 circumcision (okay, that was not our decision).
Uncountable sets of Shabbat candles distributed.
2 very tired but happy roving rabbis on their way back to Brooklyn.

From Roumania to Key West c. 1898 A bit of Key West Jewish History
My family came through New York and settled in Key West where my great grandfather was a peddler. Jews were merchants to the cigar industry.
When the Cigar industry moved to Tampa, the Jews moved too. They had Dry Goods stores on 7th Avenue. My great grandfather had one. The buildings still stand with Jewish names on the bricks. My family's building is now a night club! My great grandfather was the founding treasurer of Rodolph Shalom, the orthodox shul,
I figured I'd chime in on the basic history of the Jews of Key West who then moved to Tampa.
I
