MIKVAH
MEI SHIFRA

Mikvah Mei Shifra will cater to the needs of today's Jewish woman, while offering the oppoortunity for a deeply moving, spiritual experience.

The Mikvah will be a gorgeous facility - a spa for the body as well as the soul; a true celebration of the Jewish feminine mystique.

Dear Friends,

Welcome to the Mei Shifra Mikvah project.  Our goal is to enhance and strengthen the Jewish community by erecting the a mikvah on the east side of Cherry Hill. We welcome all members of the local Jewish community to join us in bringing to our area a new mikvah facility which will be warm and inviting to all Jews, regardless of their level of observance.

Locally, the Jewish community is experiencing an unprecedented resurgence of interest for spiritual meaning and purpose. To this end, the mikvah committee of Chabad of Camden and Burlington Counties has undertaken a most worthy community initiative.

Through this project, we hope to revive an awareness of the extraordinary importance of the mikvah. We hope to strengthen our community by enabling women to become more spiritually empowered and fulfilled. Marriages and families will be nourished and enhanced, ultimately leading to a stronger, healthier Jewish community.

Mikvah represents the ultimate celebration of life and of the power given by G‑d, exclusively to women, to create life. By immersing in the spiritually cleansing waters of the Mikvah, the woman is able to nourish, nurture, experience and renew her sense of intimacy.

Jewish law underscores the importance of the construction of a mikvah by permitting the sale of a synagogue or even a Torah scroll to provide the funds if necessary. The Jewish family as well as the Jewish people owe their stunning success and their remarkable longevity in large part to this most vital Mitzvah.

We are thankful to the Almighty for giving us the opportunity to take part in this monumental project that will impact our Jewish community just as it has throughout generations for thousands of years.

                                        Sincerely,

                                        The Mikvah Committee
